When we arrived we were told a small table by the wall was for us, but my mom has a knee injury so we asked for a table where her extended leg would not bother anyone walking by. There were three additional tables where we could have been seated but the waitress, only one for the 12-or-so table place, was rude and simply said that was the only table we "could" have.

Two other patrons in a table for four next to us saw my mom and I and kindly told the waitress they'd have no issue switching their table with ours, we were very happy and thanked them and everyone was nice about it except the waitress. She almost seemed angry that we were able to get a table other than the one she wanted to give us. I knew right away after this that if the food wasn't stellar the whole dinner would be ruined just by the service alone.

We ordered two sodas, a side Cesar Salad, Pesto Garlic Bread, Lobster Ravioli and my mom asked for Chicken Parm with Alfredo sauce rather than Marinara. This isn't rocket science, we've asked this switch at other Italian restaurants before, you're using different sauces in the exact same dish, but to the waitress this last request seemed extremely difficult. She said that was "strange" that she'd have to ask for "permission" and that she wasn't sure they'd be able to accommodate that exchange and probably charge more for it. We said that if she could check we'd be willing to pay, I guess Alfredo does use more cheese so, sure, I'll pay two extra dollars for it to make my mom happy. She came back and said they'd be able to meet our request.

After 15 minutes we got the salad and canned sodas. The salad was good and we were hopeful again, as foodies, for the food saving dinner. We got the pesto garlic bread and it was like, a baguette loaded with butter and pre-made pesto sauce and grated pizza cheese warmed up for a minute. The bread wasn't even crunchy, from an oven, it was greasy and chewy, as if microwaved. We were worried again.

The food came out and my ravioli just tasted oily and so generic, it was *not* homemade, or handmade, or even locally-made, it didn't even taste like lobster. My mom's poor chicken parm was a whole other ordeal. I felt bad for the chicken because the chicken itself was actually good, it was soft and juicy- but the breading was so fried, and you could taste that the oil was overused. We make food, we eat food, we travel for food for goodness sake, we know what burnt oil tastes like, and with the alfredo sauce, which has milk and cheese, it did not go well. The taste was bitter and salty.

We told the waitress it was just too oily to eat and if she could tell the chef that the oil tasted burnt. She literally, honest to God, gave a huge sigh and exhaled in front of us and proceeded to lecture us! She said that WE had changed the order, that WE had chosen the ingredients and that WE had to eat what we had ordered. After the mild 10 second shock I took the plate and told her I knew what burnt oil tasted like, and not in a happy tone. My kinder mom asked her to please tell whoever was cooking that this wasn't the cheese or the sauce making the dish taste bad, it was the extra burnt oil.

The waitress took the plate off my mom's hand and said before she left, "you're going to be charged for this still because it's not in our menu so start looking in case you want to eat something else because he won't remake it." As she walked into the kitchen, the place is tiny, she said out loud "I'm gonna loose it with these two!." What waitress says that to or about a patron?! In a place like Rockport, where you make your money for the whole year in the three busy months of summer, if you're tired of tourists coming to eat then DON'T WORK IN A RESTAURANT!

Don't go to a place like this where they assume they'll still sell food no matter what. Rockport is beautiful and it has many other, earlier closing but better, food spots to make your vacation or day tip even more memorable.

This place is someplace that you are likely not going to find without help of a local. Not that it is hard to find just that it is not on the tourist radar. I know locals that have not tried it. After you try it I will bet you will make the effort to go back. My favorite place to eat in Rockport. The food is just great!

Great service. Friendly. Lots of empty tables but without a reservation people were turned away. Fried artichoke app good. Calamari chewy with flourly tasting coating. Tomato sauce tasted burned .Very dark dining room. People were using flashlight apps to read menus. Odd little place with marginal food.

Great little Italian restaurant. Don't let the exterior fool you. Go in! Great atmosphere, good food (except mushy lasagna), reasonable prices and BYOB.
